The "Jewish Silk Road" event was held at the initiative of the World Jewish Travel organization in Tel Aviv, Israel.
At the event, the head of tourism product sector of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, Gunel Badalova, informed the participants about the perennial Jewish heritage of Azerbaijan, the densely populated Red settlementof the Jewish community, as well as Baku, Guba, Oguz, Ismayilli and other areas where the Jewish heritage exists.
The participants were told that traces of ancient synagogues were discovered in different parts of Azerbaijan and that seven synagogues are currently operating in the country.
At the event, the delegation representing Turkey, Georgia, Uzbekistan and India made presentations on the Jewish heritage in their countries.
It should be noted that the conceptual project connecting cities located on the Silk Road and contributing to the flourishing of Jewish culture is called "Jewish Silk Road".
The tourism opportunities of our country were presented at the International Mediterranean Tourism Market (IMTM) fair with the organizational support of the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Board on February 14-15 in Tel Aviv.
